AGE-TECH Ankara, June 16-20 2025

AGE-TECH Ankara-1

From June 16–20, 2025, the AGE-TECH journey continued in Ankara, Türkiye 🇹🇷, where partners came together for an intensive Training of Trainers experience — a moment that truly brought the project to life.

For five days, trainers, educators and partners didn’t just sit in sessions — they experienced what it means to learn again. They stepped into the shoes of elderly learners, explored their challenges, their pace, their fears and their motivations, and reflected on one simple question: how can we make digital learning truly accessible for everyone?

Through interactive activities, discussions and hands-on practice, participants explored the foundations of adult education and discovered new ways to create inclusive, supportive and human-centered learning environments. Because teaching technology to elderly people is not just about devices — it’s about trust, patience and connection.

A key moment of the training was diving into the DIGITELD Manual, one of the main tools of the project. Instead of simply presenting it, participants worked with it, challenged it, improved it. They exchanged ideas, tested activities, and shaped it together to ensure it responds to real needs on the ground.

But what made this training truly powerful was the shift from theory to practice. Participants designed their own sessions, experimented through role-playing, and built concrete training plans that they will soon implement in their local communities. It was a space to try, fail, adapt and grow — just like the learning journey we want to create for elderly people.

Beyond the sessions, something even more important was happening: connections were being built. Between partners, between cultures, between ideas. Because digital inclusion is not just a skill — it’s a shared responsibility.

Now, the next step begins. With new tools, stronger confidence and a clearer vision, partners are ready to bring this experience back home: to work directly with elderly learners, to create digital spaces, and to support them in becoming active participants in today’s digital world.

Because staying connected, informed and included should not depend on age.
