“Sustainable Bodies – Local Workshops”

Sustainable Bodies-1

As part of the Erasmus+ KA2 project “Sustainable Bodies”, EN.O Greece successfully implemented a series of local workshops on 18 December 2025 at the 23rd High School of Thessaloniki, engaging students from three first-year classes (A1, A2, A3) in an interactive and educational experience focused on sustainability and personal hygiene.

The workshops aimed to empower young people to explore more sustainable, inclusive, and informed approaches to personal care, while also creating a safe space for open discussion around topics that are often considered taboo. Through a combination of interactive activities, dialogue, and hands-on learning, participants were encouraged to reflect on their daily habits and the impact of their choices on both their health and the environment.

The sessions began with an introduction to the concept of sustainability, where students shared their own ideas and were guided to understand its connection with everyday life. Particular emphasis was placed on how sustainability relates to personal hygiene and consumption habits, highlighting key factors such as reusability, recyclability, natural ingredients, and ethical production.

To enhance engagement, participants took part in an interactive Kahoot quiz, which allowed them to test their knowledge and learn in a fun and dynamic way. The activity encouraged active participation and helped clarify important concepts related to sustainable practices and personal hygiene.

A particularly impactful part of the workshops was the “Myths and Realities” activity, where students explored common misconceptions around intimate hygiene and body-related topics. Through a movement-based “Yes or No” game, participants were invited to express their opinions, reflect critically, and engage in open discussions. This activity contributed to breaking taboos and fostering a more inclusive and respectful understanding of the body.

Participants were also introduced to a variety of sustainable alternatives to conventional hygiene products, including menstrual cups, reusable pads, bamboo toothbrushes, and natural personal care products. The facilitators provided practical information on their use, benefits, and maintenance, helping students understand how small changes can lead to more sustainable lifestyles.

The workshops concluded with a hands-on activity, during which participants created their own natural toothpaste using simple, eco-friendly ingredients. This practical experience allowed them to directly engage with the concept of sustainability and demonstrated how everyday products can be replaced with more environmentally friendly alternatives.

We would like to warmly thank the 23rd High School of Thessaloniki for hosting the workshops and for their openness to innovative educational initiatives. Special thanks go to Mr. Dimitrios Charitopoulos, whose support and initiative were instrumental in making this collaboration possible. His contribution played a key role in connecting the school community with the goals and values of the project.

Overall, the workshops were met with great enthusiasm and active participation from the students. By combining education, interaction, and practical application, the activity contributed to raising awareness and empowering young people to adopt more sustainable, conscious, and responsible practices in their everyday lives.
