From 23 to 29 May, EN.O Greece implemented the Erasmus+ Training Course “Disasters: The Role of the NGOs”, welcoming 22 young participants from Greece, Italy, Serbia, Romania and Türkiye. Alongside the educational activities of the training course, a special cultural initiative took place: a photo exhibition dedicated to intercultural dialogue and shared Mediterranean identity.

The exhibition presented visual material created during the Erasmus+ project “Make the Change 2.0”, implemented in Agrigento, Sicily, under the broader initiative “Cultural Dialogues – Empowering Unity through Identity”, led by our Italian partner FreeMinds in Action with the support of the Region of Sicily. The project brought together young people from seven countries to explore the historical, artistic and cultural bonds between Sicily and Greece, highlighting how shared heritage can foster unity, dialogue and mutual understanding.

The exhibition offered a visual journey into cultural identity, collective memory and European cooperation, demonstrating the transformative role of mobility and non-formal education in empowering young people and strengthening intercultural connections across the Mediterranean.

We would like to express our sincere gratitude to the School of Early Childhood Education, Faculty of Education, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki for hosting the exhibition and warmly supporting this initiative. The School provided an open academic space where students had the opportunity to interact directly with international participants, exchange perspectives and learn more about the Erasmus+ programme and the opportunities it offers for youth mobility, training and intercultural learning.

This interaction created a meaningful bridge between formal and non-formal education, reinforcing the importance of lifelong learning, civic engagement and international cooperation within the university environment.

We also extend our heartfelt thanks to our Italian partner, FreeMinds in Action, for leading the “Cultural Dialogues – Empowering Unity through Identity” initiative and for their valuable contribution in promoting unity through shared cultural roots.

This collaboration reflects our shared commitment to strengthening European and Mediterranean partnerships, empowering young people and building inclusive communities through education, culture and dialogue.
