From May 30th to June 6th, participants from Greece, Romania, Italy, Portugal, & Türkiye gathered in Antalya, Türkiye, for the Erasmus+ Youth Exchange project “LET’S PROTECT OUR FORESTS, LET’S PROTECT OUR FUTURE!”

🔥 Our Focus: Forest Fires

Understanding the Issue: Forest fires pose a significant threat due to global warming & human negligence. Antalya, one of the hottest cities in Türkiye, is particularly vulnerable.

Teamwork & Innovation: Participants engaged in various activities centered on environmental challenges & forest fire prevention, emphasizing collaboration & creativity.

🌍 Activities & Learning Experiences:

Surveys & Discussions: Before the exchange, participants surveyed their communities about forest fires. Discussions included creating fire-resistant vegetation & sharing national forest fire reports.

Field Visits: A visit to the International Forestry Training Center in Antalya featured presentations on Türkiye’s approach to fire prevention, extinguishing, & rehabilitation. Participants experienced a realistic aircraft & forest fire intervention simulation.

Local Engagement: Participants conducted surveys with locals to improve communication skills & raise awareness about forest fire prevention.

Strategic Planning: Using SWOT analysis & SMART goals, participants developed strategies for preventing forest fires, culminating in a tree-planting event on World Environment Day.

🎉 Cultural Exchange:

Evenings were filled with vibrant cultural nights where countries’ traditions, foods, & dances were shared, fostering a rich intercultural dialogue.

🎓 Celebrating Achievements:

The project concluded with a Youthpass ceremony, celebrating participants’ efforts & growth. Feedback was gathered through a Google form to enhance future projects.
